1887, Odessa, Hirsch M. Klusner operated the belle epoche jewelry shop in the seaside district of Russia.  Provider of rare gems and watches, he plants a seed that will span the next four generations of his patrimony.

Fleeing to Berlin amongst the Bolshevik revolution, Hirsch & his son, Meir set up shop in their new fangled home, supplying much of the city’s fine jewelry.  With the rise of the Third Reich, Meir and his son Stanley carve out the pages of books & fill them with as many jewels as they can. Meir obtains passports in Switzerland & embarks on a steamer to the New World.

In New York, the two begin anew and eventually pass the business on to the fourth generation, Rodney Klusner.

In 1975, J.S. Klusner is born. J.S. soon spends weekends helping his father. With time he develops an ability to spot the exotic & the unique amongst the dross of metals & gems. Before long he is scouring the world for rare one-of-a-kind pieces. He specializes in specific eras of bygone times—19th century Victorian, turn of the century Edwardian, French Art Nouveau & Deco, and 40s retro.

J.S. Klusner is now offering his curated pieces to the public online, carrying the tradition of the first Odessa shop into the digital age.
