Insured Shipping within the United States is FREE for purchases made from erstwhilejewelry.com. International shipping is $20 plus 2% added for Insurance. On international orders, the customer is responsible for all additional duties, taxes and/or tariffs that might incur. We ship all packages via UPS next day air or UPS 2nd day air with signature confirmation. All packages shipped by Erstwhile Jewelry Co. are fully insured for their purchased price. When your item is ready to ship, we will email a shipping confirmation to you that provides the UPS tracking number so that you may track your package. All shipments must be made to a physical address with someone present to sign for the package. Your purchase will be shipped as soon as we receive confirmation of payment.
Any item purchased from erstwhilejewelry.com can be returned regardless of the reason for the return as long as the item is in the same condition as it was when delivered from erstwhilejewelry.com. Please contact us within 3 days of receipt to discuss a return or exchange. The item must be shipped fully insured and returned to us within 15 days of receipt with it’s original box and packaging in order to receive a full refund. Erstwhile Jewelry Co. is not responsible for return shipping and insurance charges and/or fees. Returns from International buyers will also be charged all duties/taxes/tariffs that erstwhilejewelry.com might incur from the item they are returning. All over the counter sales are final and no exchange or return will be allowed.
Erstwhile Jewelry uses its vast knowledge to date each piece based on the materials, construction techniques, hallmarks/signatures, overall style and cultural context. While dating and authenticity are not a formal science, we determine them to the best of our ability based on our knowledge, experience and resources. Some of our pieces are mounted in a way that makes it difficult to determine a precise stone grading. Diamonds and colored gemstones that cannot be removed from their vintage settings without harm to the piece are evaluated in their mountings using industry-standard measurements and formulas. Unless certified by an independent lab, such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL), stone gradings are done by us. Jewelry descriptions and all carats weights stated represent approximates; Mounted stone(s) is/are graded only insofar as mounting permits observation. Most colored gemstones (rubies, sapphires and emeralds) are often treated to enhance their beauty; some treatments may not be permanent and/or may require special care. Please email us for further details. All diamonds shown on our website are natural, untreated diamonds. We cannot guarantee that the color you see matches the item color, as the display of color depends, in part, upon the type of computer monitor used by you.
Pieces could go out of stock before we’re able to remove them from the site. Should this occur, we will notify you. We make every attempt to only show our users correct information. From time to time inaccurate data may be displayed due to system error. We reserve the right to correct any incorrect pricing as a result of the above, and will not honor any incorrect prices.
Under no circumstances will Erstwhile Jewelry be held liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages of any kind, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, including negligence, strict product liability or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
