Beautiful era. Beautiful ring.
La Belle Époque is French for "Beautiful Era" and is known for being the most graceful and elegant time period. Producing some of the most beautiful writing, art, and architecture. The Belle Époque era ranged from 1871 to 1914. The Edwardian era which ranged from 1901 to 1920 overlapped with this period of ultra romance which came to a halt at the dawn of the First World War.
This Edwardian era find is especially indicative of the era. Every detail is rich with delicate but ornate whimsy. The ultra low profile is a typical feature of Edwardian era settings. Low sitting rings are easier to wear and typically are harder to damage. The bezel is the most secure of all diamond settings. Rather then prongs, which can snag or loosen. The bezel secures the diamond over the entire circumference of the ring.
