Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a client who admired the proportions and style of an original three-stone Victorian engagement ring from around 1890. However, they wanted to add a unique touch.
The Original Victorian Ring
The original Victorian ring was a beauty of its time. Crafted entirely in 18k yellow gold, it featured a 1.46 carat old mine cushion center diamond, flanked by old European cut diamond accents on either side. The ring's design captured the refinement of the late 19th century.
A Unique Customization
Our client's vision was to maintain the ring's vintage look while adding modern platinum prongs to highlight the diamonds' brilliance. To achieve this, we sourced a 1.39 carat I I2 antique old mine cushion center diamond, complemented by two approximately .60 carat antique old European cut diamond accents. The selection of these stones was crucial in preserving the ring's antique aesthetic.
Our master jeweler meticulously crafted the ring, ensuring that each detail mirrored the original Victorian piece while incorporating the client's personalized touch of adding platinum prongs. The result was a stunning engagement ring that honored its historical roots.
