Antique ring centering a cushion-cut sapphire of 2.12 carats with GIA report stating that it is unheated and Burmese. With a 12-single-cut surround of approximately .25 carat. Mounted in 14k rose gold. Inscribed "Lara". Center: 14.8x12mm, shank: 4.8mm. Circa 1890.
There's a comforting harmony between the lively color of the sapphire and the soft and warm rose gold - with a comfortable band to boot.
Diamond and gold mining has caused devastation in areas such as Africa, wreaking havoc on delicate ecosystems and communities. Choosing to go vintage, you are eliminating the need for more mining and lessening the demand for new diamonds.
