What is the difference between vintage, antique, and estate engagement rings?
The term "vintage" is not a regulated industry term. Often anything 20 years or older can be classified as vintage but at Erstwhile we refer to vintage rings as rings that were made between 1919 and 1950. Antique refers to something over 100 years old. The US customs law holds to this 100 year mark as a legal definition. An Antique engagement ring, predates the Art Deco period, pre 1919. An "estate" ring says nothing about the period. It means that the engagement ring has origins from an estate, a previous owner.
