Victorian antique buckle ring crafted in 14k yellow gold, featuring a wide flat band secured by an intricately detailed buckle. The keeper is adorned with richly textured detailing, creating contrast against the smooth surfaces of the band. The design lays comfortably low on the finger while making a bold statement. The interior of the band retains the original "Jos. Mayer & Bros." maker's mark, identifying it as the work of one of America's respected early jewelry manufacturers. Founded in Brooklyn in 1888, Jos. Mayer & Bros. became known for producing finely crafted gold and platinum jewelry during the early 20th century. Buckle motifs became especially popular during the Victorian era.
