Antique Victorian solitaire engagement ring, circa 1898, set with a GIA certified .55 carat old European cut diamond, graded K color and VS2 clarity. The diamond is mounted in an 18K yellow gold belcher or buttercup-style setting with deep, petal-like scallops and pierced openings. The gallery and shoulders are smoothly tapered, with subtle grooves framing the top of the band. English assay marks date the piece to 1897–1898. A classic late-Victorian design with a low and sturdy profile.
