A pair of sculptural gold hair barrettes designed by Paloma Picasso during her tenure with Tiffany & Co., dating to the 1980s. Executed in 18k yellow gold, each barrette is formed with a sequence of angular, open diamond shaped links. Fitted with classic hinged barrette findings, these pieces were intended to function as jewelry as much as hair adornment.
Original vintage examples from the 1980s, not modern reproductions. Increasingly scarce in pairs, they represent a collectible period of Paloma Picasso’s work for Tiffany, when sculptural gold jewelry defined the era.
